Biblical Basis of "this Constitution for the United States of America"

To the side here you see the Preamble for "this Constitution for the United States of America" with 38 footnotes, over 40 Biblical concepts of government, supported by over 100 verses from God's Word, the Holy Bible.

Soon, at Godspeed, which to some will seem slow, and some like the blink of an eye, will be created here on this website a hyper-linked version of "this Constitution for the United States of America" like the hyper-linked version at the National Archives website that a link is provided above.

However, this version will provide links to the Bible verses that support that Biblical concept of Godly Government.

I pray that this work will illuminate the understanding of those men (per Genesis 1:27 means both men and women) who We the People vote into office as our elected servants.

Petition of a.d. 1890s, similar to call for change in a.d. 1788...

Copies of this petition were circulated around the country, this copy from the files of Silas Delmar Conger, a multi-lingual (13 languages) Reform Presbyterian pastor in Portsmouth, Ohio (and my great grand-father).

This petition received more signatures than any petition submitted to Congress up to that time, but it was "lost in the labyrinth" of the Congress Committee system.

Note that on 11 February anno domini 1788, William Williams of Connecticut, a signer of the Declaration of Independence, and a delegate to the State of Connecticut Constitution Ratification Convention, called for the amendment of the Preamble to openly and overtly acknowledge Jesus Christ as the source of the Law in this United States, but his proposed amendment was 95 words long and failed for passage.

This very popular proposed amendment to this Constitution adds 17 words to the Preamble:
WE THE PEOPLE of the United States,
"devoutly recognizing the Authority and Law of Jesus Christ, the Savior and King of nations, and desiring..."
to form a more perfect Union...
